Sax Appeal - The Hottest 50's and 60's Band Ever!

Mike Zezzo started playing in bands at the age of 16. One of his first bands was the "Diamond Dots". This was followed by a band that played old standards, polkas & waltzes. After that was the "Chapperells" a country band. After that was a band called "Polka Kings". Then a seven year stint with the "Bob Bilicic Orchestra". In 1984 he joined a band called "Looking Good". This also lasted about seven years. Then came the first version of "Sax Appeal". A little while later, he spent a couple of years with the Matt Carducci Trio". "Sax Appeal' then came together for a second version. After this, a few years with "The Heaters". Then came a short stint with the "Originals" a doo wop band. This was followed by yet a third version of "Sax Appeal". After that he joined "The Contels" another doo wop band. Finally he is now playing with the fourth and hopefully final version of " Sax Appeal". If you have never heard Mike Zezzo play his saxophone you are missing something out of life! He will definitely electrify the crowd!

Rick Frank started with piano at age 9 and performed for the first time on stage at age 11. He was chosen to accompany the singing class in elementary school and then graduated to accompanying the junior high choirs at Rowe junior high! He also participated in piano competitions in different areas of the state of Ohio where he achieved the highest rating of 1 in two out of the three competitions! He took classical piano lessons for 8 years from age 9 to age 15. In high school he was invited to play in the Conneaut High School stage band where he got his first feel of playing with guitar,bass guitar, drums and brass instruments! The stage band performed quite frequently for different events! He stuck with the stage band for all 3 years of high school! After high school Rick joined a band in which he played on the weekends while he worked through the week! In 1976 Rick responded to an ad in the Cleveland Plain Dealer for keyboardest for a touring lounge band! He was hired and spent the next three years touring with various lounge bands where they provided nightly entertainment usually 5 to 6 nights a week at various hotels across the eastern United States, mainly Holiday Inns, Ramada's and Hoffman houses! These venues was where Rick learned to perform basically any kind of music that happened to be requested! He also played in an Elvis Show Band in Detroit, Michigan. After dropping out of music for a while ,Rick found his way back in 1997 while selling piano's and organ's in West Seneca, New York. He decided to move back to Conneaut in 1998 where he has played in several duo's, a rock band, a couple of country bands including Southern Express with regular appearances at Jewel's Dance hall! After his most recent band -Wild Bills Rodeo out of Erie, Pa. disbanded he found Sax Appeal. He has found a new home with this band and enjoy's playing 50s and 60s music which is a rather new experience for him!

Jim Monda began playing drums at age 6 years old by watching his father Dominic and then trying to learn from him. Dominic Monda was obviously a good teacher as his son started playing live at age 16 years of age! Some of the bands that Jim has performed with include the 4 Kings, Witz End, The John Lambert Band and Pramixter. Jim now plays with Sax Appeal with great energy and enthusiasm! Don't miss this band with this great drummer! He will get you tapping your toes and stomping your feet! Dominic Monda, shown in the picture below his son is the lead singer and main front person of the band! He started singing when he was 19 and brings alot of talent,experience and energy to the Sax Appeal band.Don also knows how to play drums and harmonica! Don has also performed with many prior acts including the Ray Jangils band, Tony Esposito,the Ramsey Trio, Bob Billicik, Pat Musushe, the Four Jays, Chuck Schilic, Matt Carducci, The Contels, and of course Sax Appeal.Don has also made various television appearances! Don't miss this great singer! He can sing anything and everything!
